The Artists Association of Nantucket

The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is a vibrant hub for creativity, located in the picturesque setting of Nantucket Island. This organization plays a pivotal role in fostering artistic expression through a variety of programs and events designed for all ages. Whether you’re a budding artist or a seasoned pro, AAN has something to offer that will ignite your creative spark. 🎨

Art Camps for Kids

One of the standout features of AAN is its engaging summer art camps for children. For kids aged 6 to 9, there are two fantastic options: Morning Adventures in Art Camp from 9:00 to 11:30 AM and Afternoon Clay Camp from 1:00 to 3:30 PM. Both camps run Monday through Friday and are designed to foster creativity through hands-on projects. Kids can explore various mediums, from painting to clay sculpting, ensuring they have a blast while learning! 🖌️

Workshops for Teens

For the older crowd, aged 10 to 14, AAN offers morning and afternoon wheel-throwing sessions, alongside weekly workshops that delve into different artistic processes. Each week focuses on a unique medium, allowing teens to expand their skills and experiment with new techniques. This is a great opportunity for young artists to connect with their peers and express themselves creatively.

Exciting Classes and Visiting Artists

As spring approaches, AAN is gearing up for a series of exciting classes and workshops that will run from March 31 to June 5. Local and visiting artists will lead these sessions, covering a wide range of topics including painting, drawing, printmaking, clay, sculpture, and mixed media. This is a perfect chance for art enthusiasts to learn from experienced artists and refine their craft.

Exhibitions to Look Forward To

The AAN also hosts various exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing the incredible talent of its members. One of the highlights is the upcoming exhibition titled “Sweet Arts 2026,” debuting exclusively online. This show will feature over 100 fresh small artworks, including pieces with a Valentine’s Day theme, running through February 17. It’s a fantastic way to support local artists and discover new favorites!

Meet the Artists

In addition to exhibitions, AAN is proud to introduce its first Artist in Residence for 2026, Jenny, a recipient of The Hale Masters of Fine Art Fellowship. This residency program is designed to support artists in their creative journeys and provide them with a platform to share their work with the community.

Join the Creative Community

Whether you’re looking to enroll your child in a fun and educational art camp, participate in workshops, or simply explore the latest exhibitions, the Artists Association of Nantucket is the place to be. Engaging with art not only enriches our lives but also strengthens community bonds. So, why not dive into the world of creativity this season? 🌟

Fun is great, but without quality instruction what are they really getting out of it? Just something to think about.
